Baseball Game Preview: St. James Saints vs. Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial Knights

The St. James Saints will head out to take on the Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. St. James will be strutting in after a win while Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial will be coming in after a loss.

St. James proved they can win big on Friday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past United South Central 8-7.

Meanwhile, Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by just one run.

Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for St. James, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.

St. James came up short against Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 7-3. Can the Saints avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
