Softball Recap: Northampton County Has No Trouble Against Southeast Halifax

Northampton County was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Southeast Halifax on Friday. Northampton County blew past Southeast Halifax 52-27. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Jaguars also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Toccara Joyner was a standout: she went a perfect 7-for-7 with two doubles. Those seven hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brianna Calix, who scored two runs while going 5-for-6.

Northampton County now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Southeast Halifax, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northampton County will face off against Warren County at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Warren County will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Northampton County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Southeast Halifax, they will square off against Bertie at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Bertie has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.75 runs per game on average), something Southeast Halifax will no doubt try to take advantage of.
