Softball Recap: South Walton Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for South Walton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Freeport Bulldogs on Tuesday. The Seahawks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

McKenzie Reiter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, South Walton got a massive performance out of Tatum Kreinus, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Kallie Keyes was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.

The win got South Walton back to even at 1-1. As for Freeport, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

South Walton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-6 defeat against Crestview on the 27th. As for Freeport, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-6 victory against Paxton on the 6th.
