Basketball Game Preview: Timnath Cubs vs. Delta Panthers

The Timnath Cubs will face off against the Delta Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Timnath sitting on five straight wins and Delta on 15.

Timnath is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Pagosa Springs with a sharp 60-38 victory. The Cubs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Delta earned a 37-24 win over Colorado Academy on Wednesday.

Timnath better keep an eye on Taylor Somers. She was instrumental in Delta's win, dropping a double-double with 21 points and 12 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Breezy Huff, who went 5-for-12 on her way to 10 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Delta smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 20 consecutive matchups.

Delta's victory bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Timnath, their win bumped their record up to 23-3.
