Football Recap: Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Ravens vs. Lansingburgh Knights

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk blew Lansingburgh out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Lansingburgh got their revenge. The Ravens fell just short of the Knights by a score of 14-12. Despite 106 more yards than the Knights, the Ravens couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the loss, Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk still got an impressive performance from Mason Carkner, who rushed for 91 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 178 yards on 13 of 22 attempts. A healthy portion of Carkner's aerial production (124 yards to be exact) went to Ta'Rae Makhi Green.

Anari Fredericks had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 195 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 10.8 yards per carry for Lansingburgh. Fredericks' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 138 rushing yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk fell to 3-1. As for Lansingburgh, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk will face off against rival Green Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Ravens 10.5, the Eagles 13) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Lansingburgh is set to take on their familiar foe Cohoes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
