League recap: Maloney dominating on the mound for Douglas County

5A/4A Continental league recap: 4/3/13

5A/4A Continental's top pitcher this week was Douglas County's Trent Maloney. Over the past week, he racked up two wins and 12 strikeouts.

Jake Hand was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .692 average, one home run and 11 RBIs. Meanwhile, ThunderRidge put together a 3-0 week.

Legend put just two batters on base with walks in the past week, but Chaparral's pitching staff has had the best control this season, surrendering a walk only five times in 21 innings this year.

The Grizzlies, the league's stolen base leader this season with 22, added to their lead in that category with 14 more steals over the past week.

5A/4A Continental's Maloney had a great week on the mound, as he led the league with two wins and 12 strikeouts.

16 batters hit over .400 this week. They were led by Ausmus Adam, who hit 1.000 this week (3-for-3).



Hand drove in four runners on Thursday in ThunderRidge's 15-3 victory over South Salem. He went 3-for-4 and scored one run.

Max Kuhns struck out ten in Santa Barbara's 4-2 win over the Wolverines on March 26. Over his six innings pitched he allowed four runs on five hits.
