Preview: Kingsville Tigers vs. Bronaugh Wildcats

The Kingsville Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Bronaugh Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kingsville has five straight victories, Bronaugh has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Even though Sherwood scored an imposing 62 points last Thursday, Kingsville still came out on top. Kingsville sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 64-62 win over Sherwood. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Kingsville has posted yet this season.

Bronaugh suffered their biggest loss since December 7, 2023 on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 61-40 walloping at the hands of Sheldon. Bronaugh was down 50-27 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Strauss Banes, who scored 19 points. That was a full 47.5% of Bronaugh's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Tucker Duncan was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six assists and three steals.

Kingsville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Bronaugh, they dropped their record down to 10-9 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
