Basketball Game Preview: Stanhope Elmore Mustangs vs. Prattville Lions + How To Watch

Stanhope Elmore is 2-8 against Prattville since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Mustangs will get right back to it and host the Lions at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Prattville will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Stanhope Elmore extended their winning streak to four on Thursday. The Mustangs claimed a resounding 55-22 victory over Pike Road. While the Mustangs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Stanhope Elmore's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Teonna Davis, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 16 rebounds. With that strong performance, Davis is now averaging an impressive 3 steals per game. Heaven Bailey was another key player, shooting 46% from the field en route to 15 points in addition to six assists and four steals.

Stanhope Elmore smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Prattville didn't have too much trouble with Wetumpka on Tuesday as they won 62-48. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won nine in a row.

Stanhope Elmore's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Prattville, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
