Prospect Mountain came tearing into Monday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Gilford Golden Eagles 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Timberwolves have posted since June 8, 2024.

Alexis Wilson was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Liv Noyes was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Paityn Glidden was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Prospect Mountain's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Gilford, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
