Roma is a perfect 5-0 against Juarez-Lincoln since February of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Roma Gladiators will look to defend their home field against the Juarez-Lincoln Huskies at 6:00 p.m. Roma comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Roma is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Valley View by a score of 18-17 on Tuesday.

Isabella Garza was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. Garza was even better at the plate, scoring five runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, Kelsey Garza made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was Shaelyn Butler, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-6.
Meanwhile, while Juarez-Lincoln put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Cigarroa. Juarez-Lincoln was the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Cigarroa. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won four matches by nine runs or more so far this season.
Like Roma, Juarez-Lincoln also got a great game from a two-way player: Natalie Gonzalez. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only a hit over six innings pitched. Gonzalez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (four).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on April Marroquin, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Valeria Gonzalez was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
Juarez-Lincoln was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in five consecutive games.
Roma's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Juarez-Lincoln, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Roma hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having got 0 of their hits per game. However, it's not like Juarez-Lincoln struggles in that department as they've got 0 of their hits this season. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Roma took their win against Juarez-Lincoln in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-6. Does Roma have another victory up their sleeve, or will Juarez-Lincoln turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
