Football Recap: Lake Worth Falls to St. Thomas Aquinas in First Game of Season

Lake Worth unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders and fell 47-0.

Sherice Newton had a dynamite game for St. Thomas Aquinas, throwing for 217 yards and five touchdowns while completing 84% of her passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Sianna Gonzalez, who picked up 64 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Looking ahead, Lake Worth will face off against Boynton Beach at 6:00 p.m. on February 25th. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 26-6 victory against Pembroke Pines Charter on the 21st.
