Softball Recap: Martinsburg Bulldogs vs. Hampshire Trojans
Martinsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Hampshire Trojans, falling 16-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-9 on Saturday.
Kamyia Cole-Redman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Hailey Kelican, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Martinsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Hampshire, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-5 record this season.
Martinsburg will square off against Hancock at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Hampshire, they will challenge Mountain Ridge at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Miners have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.5 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
