Softball Recap: Bear River Gets the Win

Bear River's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Nevada Union Miners. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bruins have posted since March 20th.

Taryn Cleek made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Macy Martin, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Bear River's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Nevada Union, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-19-1.

As of now, neither Bear River nor the Miners have any future games scheduled.
