The Cesar Chavez Champions will venture away from home to square off against the Browne Bruins at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Cesar Chavez is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on South Mountain with a sharp 27-8 victory on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Champions.

Esmeralda White made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four). She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.
In other batting news, Cesar Chavez got a massive performance out of Mariah Flores, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those two runs gave Flores a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeri White, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Cesar Chavez kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 2.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.
Meanwhile, Browne entered their tilt with Maryvale on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Panthers. That's two games straight that the Bruins have won by just one run.
Like Cesar Chavez, Browne also got a great game from a two-way player: Shyla Vasquez. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. Vasquez has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tunisia Rios, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.
Browne's win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Cesar Chavez, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 3-12.
Cesar Chavez couldn't quite get it done against Browne in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 4-1. Can the Champions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
