Baseball Game Preview: Todd County Central Rebels vs. Edmonson County Wildcats

Todd County Central is 1-6 against Edmonson County since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Todd County Central Rebels will face off against the Edmonson County Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. Edmonson County took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Todd County Central, who comes in off a win.

Todd County Central is headed out to face Edmonson County after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Todd County Central was the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Varsity Opponent on Tuesday.

Conner Wheeler made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Peyton Ortiz was incredible, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Thomas, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Edmonson County fell victim to Breckinridge County and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 10-0 to the Fighting Tigers.

Everything went Todd County Central's way against Edmonson County when the teams last played back in April of 2021, as Todd County Central made off with a 9-1 win.
