Soccer Game Preview: Marina vs. Edison

Marina hasn't had much luck against Edison recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Vikings will face off against the Chargers at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Marina turned things around against Corona del Mar on Friday. They never let the Sea Kings get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. The match marked Marina's most dominant victory of the season.

Meanwhile, Edison won against Corona del Mar last Friday with two goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Wednesday. The Chargers won by a goal and slipped past Los Alamitos 2-1. Given Edison's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Los Alamitos are ranked 592nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Edison's win bumped their record up to 15-1-1. As for Marina, the victory was their first at home, bumping their record up to 3-14-2.

Marina might still be hurting after the 4-0 loss they got from Edison in their previous meeting on January 3rd. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
