Basketball Recap: Golden Sierra Grizzlies vs. San Juan Spartans
The Golden Sierra Grizzlies waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat San Juan 64-33 on the road. That's another feather in the cap for Golden Sierra, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Patrick Bingham was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 21 rebounds. Bingham is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least ten every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Bradley Dodson, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Golden Sierra is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-14 record this season. As for San Juan, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-19.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Golden Sierra will take on the Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Esparto is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for San Juan, they will head out on the road to take on the Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Rio Vista focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Tuesday.
