Basketball Game Preview: Chardon Hilltoppers vs. Mayfield Wildcats

The Chardon Hilltoppers will head out to face off against the Mayfield Wildcats at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Chardon is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing North: they outscored them in every quarter. Chardon strolled past North with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 50-36.

Meanwhile, Mayfield was able to grind out a solid win over South on Wednesday, taking the game 45-35.

Chardon is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Mayfield, they pushed their record up to 11-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Chardon came up short against Mayfield in their previous matchup on January 11th, falling 50-37. Can Chardon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
