Volleyball Recap: Brentwood School Eagles vs. Westridge Tigers
Brentwood School lost against Westridge back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Brentwood School started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-18, 25-20, 25-23.
Westridge was led to victory by Katherine Labao and Lucia Flores-Rojas. Labao had ten digs and six aces, while Flores-Rojas had 24 digs and six aces. Those six aces gave Labao a new career-high. Chloe Sim also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.
Brentwood School now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Westridge, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Coming up, Brentwood School will be playing in front of their home fans against Malibu at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Westridge, they will challenge Flintridge Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give the Tigers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
