Hutsonville/Palestine had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Grayville Bison by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The Tigers were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Bison, so the Tigers were just returning the favor.

While Hutsonville/Palestine won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 26-24.

Kaylynn Davison paced Hutsonville/Palestine's offense, picking up seven kills. Davison got some help from Brynn Griffin and her 17 assists. Davison was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Hutsonville/Palestine will be playing in front of their home fans against Red Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Tigers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Grayville, they are taking a road trip to take on Carmi-White County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
