Baseball Recap: North Clay/Clay City vs. Freeburg Midgets

North Clay/Clay City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They suffered a rough 10-4 loss at the hands of the Freeburg Midgets. North Clay/Clay City was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Freeburg apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.

For Freeburg's part, Harrison Hill looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Cole Miller was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Rapp, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

North Clay/Clay City's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Freeburg, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

North Clay/Clay City will head out on the road to face off against Newton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Newton is coming into the game with three straight victories at home, so North Clay/Clay City will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. Freeburg will take on Waterloo at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Freeburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
