Volleyball Recap: Pomona Panthers vs. Westminster Wolves

Pomona came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Westminster Wolves, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-19, 25-17.

Calvan Wickstrom paced Pomona's offense, picking up four kills. Wickstrom got some help from Mitchell Cox and his ten assists. Tony Garcia controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Westminster found their leader in sophomore Justin Namvong, who had seven aces.

Pomona dropped their record down to 1-18 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home. As for Westminster, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-14 record this season.

Pomona wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Greeley Central on the 24th. As for Westminster, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Hinkley on the 25th.
