Volleyball Game Preview: West Babylon Eagles vs. Smithtown West

West Babylon is 0-6 against Smithtown West since September of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Eagles will challenge Smithtown West at 5:15 p.m.

West Babylon lost 3-0 to Smithtown East back in September.

West Babylon was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-14, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Smithtown West got the win against Half Hollow Hills East on Wednesday by a conclusive 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Smithtown West.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-16, 25-14.

West Babylon better keep an eye on Nicole Zarcone. She was instrumental in Smithtown West's win, getting six digs and six aces. That's the most aces Zarcone has posted since back in September of 2024.

West Babylon's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Smithtown West, their record is now 16-4-1.

West Babylon suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Smithtown West in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
