Joaquin is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. After each having a week off, they and the San Augustine Wolves will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Joaquin's win against Corrigan-Camden wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rams pulled ahead with a 27-26 photo finish over the Bulldogs last Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

A big part of Joaquin's win came down to the chemistry between Trenton Runnels and his top target Cooper Bragg. Runnels threw for 112 yards and three TDs on only nine passes while Bragg gained 212 total yards and three touchdowns.
