Basketball Recap: Poplar Springs Skates Past Zion Chapel with Ease + How To Watch

Poplar Springs won the last time they faced Zion Chapel and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Atomics simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Rebels 65-27. With the Atomics ahead 38-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Poplar Springs got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jamal Carnley out in front who went 5-for-8 to rack up 10 points along with six boards and five assists. Carnley has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Elliot Wyatt was another key player, shooting 50% from the field on his way to 12 points and four steals.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Poplar Springs was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Zion Chapel only posted two.

Despite the loss, Zion Chapel still got an impressive performance from John Foster Hamm, who posted six points.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Poplar Springs, bringing their record up to 4-2. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.2 points. As for Zion Chapel, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Poplar Springs will venture away from home to square off against Vernon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Atomics will be up against the Yellowjackets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 61 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Zion Chapel, they will head out on the road to take on Daleville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
