Basketball Recap: Irving Find Success

Irving's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 53-45 win over the MacArthur Cardinals. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cardinals, too.

Irving's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 10-12. As for MacArthur, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.

Irving and MacArthur could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Irving (ranked 825th) will meet Lake Highlands (ranked 49th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, MacArthur will challenge Richardson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday down 705 places (763 vs. 58).
