Volleyball Recap: Groton Falls Despite Big Games from Sydney Locke and Jerica Locke

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Groton can now relate to. They fell just short of the Rapid City Christian Comets by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Jerica Locke and Sydney Locke certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Jerica had 24 digs and one assist, while Sydney had five digs and four aces. Jerica has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last ten times she's played.

Groton's defeat dropped their record down to 25-6. As for Rapid City Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-12 record this season.

Groton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rapid City Christian, after both having extra time off, they and Dell Rapids will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on the 20th.
