Soccer Game Preview: Walton vs. Escambia

The Walton Braves will take on the Escambia Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Escambia is facing Walton at the wrong time: Walton suffered their first home loss of the season on Monday and they're likely out for redemption. They lost 6-2 to the Eagles. The Braves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 4-1.

Meanwhile, Escambia came into Tuesday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They and Pensacola Catholic finished up their matchup with a 1-1 draw on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Gators as the squad haven't won a game since December 13, 2024.

Their goal came courtesy of Angel Saucedo-Galvan, who's now up to seven this season.

Escambia's draw makes their record 2-11-2 this season. As for Walton, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5.

Walton beat Escambia 6-4 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Will Walton repeat their success, or does Escambia have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
