Softball Game Preview: Cardinal Stritch Cardinals vs. Toledo Christian Eagles

The Cardinal Stritch Cardinals will head out on the road to challenge the Toledo Christian Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cardinal Stritch knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Toledo Christian likes a good challenge.

Ottawa Hills hit Cardinal Stritch with a six-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cardinals fell just short of the Green Bears by a score of 12-11.

Kenzie Kinnie was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Cadence Zgurich was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs and one double.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Toledo Christian's offense. They lost 13-0 to Northwood on Thursday. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Toledo Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Cardinal Stritch, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Cardinal Stritch couldn't quite finish off Toledo Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2018 and fell 11-9. Can the Cardinals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
