Basketball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Ray

Ray came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 50-39 victory over the Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots. Given the Texans' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Patriots are ranked 564th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ray was led to victory by Huzefa Ullah and Tripp Thompson. Ullah went 7-for-15 to rack up 17 points and six rebounds, while Thompson posted ten points along with six boards and five assists. The game was Ullah's third in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Zaragoza, who scored nine points.

Ray's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Mission Veterans Memorial, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-2 record.

Ray didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-44 victory against Pioneer on the 13th. As for Mission Veterans Memorial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-36 loss against Rowe on the 12th.
