Basketball Game Preview: Sunnyvale vs. Paradise Panthers

Sunnyvale and the Paradise Panthers will round out the year against one another at at 8:30 a.m. on Friday. Sunnyvale is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.

Sunnyvale is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Sulphur Springs: they outscored them in every quarter. Sunnyvale was the clear victor by a 58-36 margin over Sulphur Springs on Friday. Given Sunnyvale's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while Sulphur Springs is ranked 178th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Paradise's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 68-54 bruising from Gunter.

Sunnyvale has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Paradise, their loss ended a 12-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 14-5.

Sunnyvale took their victory against Paradise when the teams last played back in February of 2015 by a conclusive 63-40. Will Sunnyvale repeat their success, or does Paradise have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
