Softball Recap: Cherokee Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Colbert Heights, Cherokee was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Shoals Christian Flame. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 8-6 win last Tuesday.

Cherokee's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Emily Crocker, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Cherokee's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-16. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Shoals Christian, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-15.

Coming up, Cherokee is taking a road trip to square off against Covenant Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Shoals Christian, they will be playing at home against Phillips at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
