Basketball Game Preview: Herlong Vikings vs. Paradise Adventist Academy Cougars

Herlong is 0-8 against Paradise Adventist Academy since January of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The Herlong Vikings are taking a road trip to challenge the Paradise Adventist Academy Cougars at 5:30 p.m.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 61-19, which was the final score in Herlong's tilt against Loyalton on Tuesday.

Despite the defeat, Herlong saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jaxson Hargus posted four points and nine boards.

Meanwhile, Paradise Adventist Academy came tearing into Thursday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 45-32 victory over the Lions.

Herlong's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Paradise Adventist Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Herlong was taken down by Paradise Adventist Academy 57-18 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Herlong was down 42-8.
