The Hicks Pirates will face off against the David Thibodaux Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Hicks proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 11) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Florien 4-3. Winning may never get old, but the Pirates sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Courtlyn Dousay made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one double.
In other pitching news, Katie-Grace Quinn looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Abby Addison, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2. She also put up a home run, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Maliah Gordy, who went 1-for-4 with four stolen bases.
Meanwhile, David Thibodaux posted their closest victory since April 9, 2024 on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past North Vermilion 4-3. The win was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won three games in a row.
Morgan Malveaux spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.
On the hitting side, Camri Jones was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one triple. Mia Ewing was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI.
Hicks pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for David Thibodaux, their record now sits at 9-6.
