Baseball Recap: Haverling Starts Season with Victory Against Perry

Haverling took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Perry Yellowjackets 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rams have posted since May 3, 2024.

Dylan Wenban made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Wenban was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Wenban wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mason Davis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. Those two hits gave Davis a new career-high.

Coming up, Haverling is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Campbell-Savona at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Perry, they will welcome Pavilion at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
