Softball Recap: Kingwood Park Comes Up Short

If Kingwood Park was riding high fresh off their 15-0 takedown of Pasadena last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Kingwood Park Panthers fell just short of the Crosby Cougars by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 4-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Kingwood Park has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-3 record this season. The victory was the third in a row for Crosby, bringing their record for this year to 9-4.

Kingwood Park and Crosby should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Kingwood Park (ranked 63rd) will meet West Fork (ranked 517th) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Crosby will square off against Pasadena at 4:30 p.m. on Friday up 794 places (56 vs. 850).
