Baseball Game Preview: Boston Latin Wolfpack vs. Westford Academy Grey Ghosts

Boston Latin is 2-8 against Westford Academy since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Wolfpack will face off against the Grey Ghosts at 4:30 p.m. Boston Latin will be strutting in after a victory while Westford Academy will be coming in after a loss.

Boston Latin's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They skirted past Newton South 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolfpack.

Meanwhile, Westford Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Weston on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 15-14. On the bright side, the 14- run effort marked the Grey Ghosts' highest-scoring match to date.

This is the second loss in a row for Westford Academy and nudges their season record down to 5-4. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Boston Latin, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.

Boston Latin suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Westford Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Wolfpack avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
