Baseball Game Preview: Overfelt Royals vs. James Lick Comets

For the second straight game, Overfelt will face off against James Lick. Overfelt will be playing in front of their home fans against James Lick at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Overfelt is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

Overfelt lost a heartbreaker the last time they played James Lick, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's contest. Overfelt's pitchers stepped up to hand James Lick a 9-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Royals have won three games by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

ELIJAH CASTANEDA-AZCUETA was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). CASTANEDA-AZCUETA was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on BRIAN BECERRA DADO, who scored two runs and stole six bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Overfelt: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 0-3 otherwise. MATT DIAZ was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Overfelt always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as James Lick only posted an OBP of .346.
