St. Henry extended their postseason success on Thursday against Independence. They came out on top against the Blue Devils by a score of 3-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Redskins, who have now won seven matches in a row.

While St. Henry might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Independence scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 23-25, 25-22, 25-18.

St. Henry's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Morgan Baumer led the charge by getting 20 digs and two aces. Baumer is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 13 games she's played. Olivia Gast was another key player, getting seven digs and four aces.

Several Blue Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Madelyn Mudra, who had nine digs and one assist. Sofia Pichert also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

St. Henry's win bumped their record up to 23-5. As for Independence, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five matches and leaves them with a 20-7 record.

Looking ahead, St. Henry will challenge Newark Catholic at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Independence does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
