Game recap

The Classical Academy (Colorado Springs, Colo.)'s advantage, which at one point stood at 11 points, dwindled to five before the final whistle blew on a 20-15 victory over Discovery Canyon (Colorado Springs, Colo.).

The Titans were up 14-3 at the half after taking the lead on a Janzten Ryals touchdown pass to Joey Trese in the second quarter.

The Classical Academy saw its 11-point halftime lead fall to five entering the fourth.

The loss snapped the Thunder's 4-game winning streak.

Discovery Canyon's Mitchell Carter played well. He threw one touchdown and kicked one field goal.

Ryals was the top performer for TCA. The junior quarterback threw three touchdowns. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.

The Titans got revenge for last year's 28-14 loss to DC with the victory.

The defeat comes as a step back for Discovery Canyon, which notched a 29-22 victory over Pueblo County in its previous outing.

The Classical Academy (5-0) will play a 3A Southern game against Harrison next week, while Discovery Canyon (4-1) will take on Lewis-Palmer in a 3A South Central game.
