Football Recap: Righetti Warriors vs. Santa Maria Saints
Righetti gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They put the hurt on the Santa Maria Saints with a sharp 27-7 victory. The Warriors' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Righetti was led to victory by Cj Hunt and Gilbert Muriguia. Hunt gained 97 total yards and a touchdown, while Muriguia rushed for 33 yards and a touchdown.
Righetti was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 486 total yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Santa Maria only gained 156.
Righetti will venture away from home to square off against Nipomo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Righetti is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. As for Santa Maria, they will host Hoover at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hoover focused on turnovers this week as team gave up five on Friday.
