Soccer Game Preview: Lincoln vs. Richland County

The Lincoln Railsplitters will face off against the Richland County Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Richland County took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Lincoln, who comes in off a win.

Lincoln is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They blew past MacArthur 10-1 on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for Lincoln as it put an end to their seven-match losing streak.

Their offense was hitting MacArthur from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. TJ Morris led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by himself.

Despite a strong season so far, Richland County has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Salem. That's two games in a row now that Richland County have lost by just one goal.

Lincoln's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 2-13. As for Richland County, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4-2.

Lincoln took their win against Richland County in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Railsplitters repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
