Baseball Recap: Ansonia Find Success

Ansonia's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Fairlawn Jets by a score of 6-3. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Jets: they've now won four in a row.

Lander Shives made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Darby Gilland, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Asher Shives was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Ansonia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
