Volleyball Recap: Imperial's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

There's no place like home for Imperial, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Calexico Mission RoadRunners on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

One reason for the win was Imperial's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-10, 25-7.

Tyler Alexandar paced Imperial's offense, picking up six kills. Alexandar got some help from Thomas Gomez and his 11 assists. Gomez was also solid from the service line: he led the team with eight aces.

Imperial's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Calexico Mission, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Imperial will host Holtville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Calexico Mission, they will head out to square off against Mountain Empire at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
