Morning Star Academy won the last time they faced Tri-State Christian and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Mustangs blew past the Huskies 51-20. With the Mustangs ahead 29-9 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Morning Star Academy had a senior duo take command as Violet Jewell dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards and Addison Smith almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine steals. Baylie Douglas was another key player, putting up seven points and five rebounds.

Morning Star Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tri-State Christian only posted five.

Tri-State Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Catherine Benedict, who posted four points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Duenser, who earned six points.

Morning Star Academy has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coincidentally, Morning Star Academy and Tri-State Christian will both be playing East Moline Christian the next time they take the court. The Mustangs will host the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Huskies will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
