Football Recap: Laurence Manning Academy Comes Up Short

Laurence Manning Academy came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 50-25 to the Pinewood Prep Panthers. The Swampcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.

It was another big night for Silas Brawner, who threw for 367 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 15.3 yards per attempt for Pinewood Prep. Brawner has been hot recently, having posted four or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Jayden Alexander was in the mix as well, providing Pinewood Prep with two TDs.

Laurence Manning Academy now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Pinewood Prep, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Laurence Manning Academy will host Ben Lippen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pinewood Prep, they will take on Hilton Head Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Panthers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
