Baseball Recap: Stoutland Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Licking, Stoutland was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Macks Creek Pirates by a score of 6-1. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won four in a row.

Will Morrow and Brodie Millsap made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Morrow pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Millsap kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over 4.1 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted over his last five games. At the plate, Morrow went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and four RBI, while Millsap went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Michael Kincaid was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Devin Barnwell also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Stoutland's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Macks Creek, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stoutland will square off against Vienna at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games the Eagles have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Macks Creek, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Osage at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
