Basketball Game Preview: Stockdale Brahmas vs. Ingleside Mustangs

The Stockdale Brahmas will take on the Ingleside Mustangs in a tournament on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Stockdale is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 48-35 victory over Geneva on Tuesday.

Devian Rivera and Nick Martinez were among the main playmakers for Stockdale as the former shot 40% from the field to rack up 19 points and three steals and the latter almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Jake Aguilar, who posted four points and three steals.

Stockdale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Ingleside put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Coastal Christian HomeSchool, posting a 60-21 win. Fans of the Mustangs have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Stockdale's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Ingleside, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Everything went Stockdale's way against Ingleside when the teams last played back in December of 2021, as Stockdale made off with a 65-43 victory. Do the Brahmas have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
