Volleyball Recap: Central Crossing Takes a Loss

After flying high against Groveport-Madison on Thursday, Central Crossing came back down to earth. The Comets fell 2-0 to the Reynoldsburg Raiders on Saturday. The Comets were not able to make up for their loss to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 27-25.

Courtney Brothers paced Central Crossing's offense, picking up five kills. Brothers got some help from Alexis Rose-Payne and her 11 assists. Kayleanah Degerick controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Central Crossing now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Reynoldsburg, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Coincidentally, Central Crossing and Reynoldsburg will both be playing Eastmoor Academy the next time they take the court. The Raiders will host the Warriors at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Comets will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
