Softball Recap: Atlantic City Takes a Loss

Atlantic City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 7-0 to the Cedar Creek Pirates. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 10-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2021.

Nelly Sosa spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 12 Ks.

On the hitting side, Atlantic City saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Marota, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Atlantic City's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Cedar Creek, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-11.

Coming up, Atlantic City will take on Atlantic County Institute of Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cedar Creek, they will head out to face off against Absegami at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Braves will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight.
